Insane Flipper Passing Video

Found this when I was looking at videos of split level games of the black knight era on youtube. It's some guy playing Jungle Lord and he's passing the ball back and forth between his flippers without hitting the bottom posts on the slings.

Never seen anyone do this before - especially with this kind of consistency.

that's a tap pass, possible on a lot of older games if you're really careful. attempting this on anything with a DMD is, as koi morris says, a "sucka shot".
This isn't a problem with tungsten bulbs because the filament remains red hot for a short duration after voltage is removed - long enough to appear lit persistently.

you can actually do it on lots of modern stern games if they are getting a bit weak in the flippers.

sweet! tap passing becomes an option halfway through a good game of LOTR!

The new stern tap pass mode! nice! I've been working a lot on this with the EBD also that getaway that wont post pass. It is a nice trick to have up ones sleeve! I really want that slap catch I saw you doing a bunch at Slabtown Cayle any pointers on that one?

For a live catch you want the flipper to meet the ball just as it comes to the top of its stroke. Its easier on black rubber but perfectly doable on other colors (more bouncy). Not much to it other than practice. You notice certain angles of the incomming ball dont work as well aws other.

Good way to practice catches is to pick a game like jackbot or AFM, and play it like a tard and only shoot for the target bank or saucers (very risky). This will send the ball coming back to the flippers a lot and you can practice different catches a lot like live catches, drop catches flip catches and dead passes.

i usually play like a tard on cayle's AFM but it's not on purpose.

THE T IS NOT A JACKPOT!!!!!!!!

wow that shit's still sick. love it. i've never tried to get so consistent with that technique, seems like when the flippers are weak enough to pull it off on modern games, they can also be really unpredictable. maybe i just don't trust them enough, but it seems like sometimes the flipper will fire strong even when it's generally weak enough to give you those taps. really cool. it looks similar to the way loop passes work, and i still don't have my timing down on those, except on certain machines.
