The Gagno's are looking forward to attending. The last three trips we've stayed at the Best Western at the Meadows. Good location and only 20 minutes from the pinball tournament. http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern ... Code=38106

Anyone have and in depth Big Casino strategies they'd care to share?

We might even pull that center post above the three in-lanes at the bottom.

Those flippers have to go . . . they make the game too easy . . . too skill based.

Just leave big casino nice and nudgeable. Those games are nicely playable and fun if the tilts are reasonable. No need for it to be a luckbox :)

So, my favorite thing in larger tourneys is when there's also a minigame or two. Anyone have any thoughts on setting something up? I loved the ones the girls set up at slabtown a couple years ago now, but there's all manner of fun stuff we could do!

The top finishers at Rose City Showdown will be receiving PAPA entries along with registration.

Also, this year we will be giving away free entry to Pinburgh to the 1st place finisher in the Open tournament.

Additionally, Rose City Showdown V (next year) will be one of the final stops of the 2012 North American Tournament Circuit.

Hotels nearby Center/Foster....

BTW... It's about 6-7 blocks from Holgate/Foster corner. (Holgate/foster is approx. at 63rd.

Slingshot lounge is about 56th so it should be center/foster.

Just like the other post.. Nearest hotel is MOTEL 6 on 31st/powell.
Another MOTEL is one located on 69/Powell accross from the former middle school (now vacant). and/or hotel on SE 78th/Powell
*or*
Stay at a HI-hostel on SE Hawthrone/30th. They will not accept locals to stay there. You can take public transit form there straight to the venue on one bus line. Keep in mind that the last bus leaves the venue approx. 1:05 AM daily/sunday.

You can stay at a hotel in the downtown portland area and you can take a local bus from downtown to the venue.
82nd Ave oK.. example.. days in on NE 82nd/Jonesmore near MAX station. or ones near columbia blvd near the airport like someone mentioned.
Be weary when staying around 82/Powell and 82/Holgate.

It should be noted that the 14 Bus on Hawthorne starts downtown on Madison and drops you off right in front of the Slingshot.

We have changed our software to award boints on a 100 point scale rather than the 50 point scale used in previous years.

It helps accommodate for more players in that unless we have over 80 players everyone will receive some amount of boints per machine.

It will also makes for a wider range in scale when Fred starts to make his wonderful graphs when it's all over.

Maybe he could even give us an example graph of how much more fun the new graphs will be to look at???

Ask and ye shall receive. Here's a comparison of the 50 and 100 point systems using the results from Showdown III

So Quarterworld will be holding a Side tournament at Sling Shot During the Three days of this event. We'll be wheeling in the AD/DC Pin, and throwing a GC tournament. Its gonna be a little different this time around though. It's gonna be $1 a play. the winner however with get 50% of the total take after the 3 days. We're also working on a #1 score prize. The AC/DC GC Tournament will end Sunday at 2pm. A clip board will be left at the host table for you to throw down your info if you put up a score. Important! we need you info so if your not there at 2 on Sunday, you'll still get your winnings. Have at it bawlers
