Crazy Flipper Fingers

It came up quick this year. Showdown III is being held Feb. 18-20th this year. It will be a lot like last year. 6 machines in the open on the front stage area. 4 machines in the classics on the main stage area. We are going to try to have 4 EM machines again, however there may be a solid state game or two that plays like an EM, for example, an Evel Knievel solid state.

Once again the ticket pricing will be 4 tickets for $10, or 1 ticket for $3

The top 16 in the open will move on to group play.

The top 12 in classics will move on to group play. The top 4 seeds will have a bye.

Payouts will be the same as last year based on a % of the total amount taken in. We gave away right around $5000 last year, $1000 to the open winner and $600 to the classics winner.

We are most likely going to keep qualifying open until 2am on Friday and Saturday this year to allow a few extra hours each night to improve your scores.

I know I know....but it looks like PatC is donating his Spiderman for the Open. Sounds like Skateball is out and being replaced by Nine Ball (Noah), Sorcerer is also most likely in. Surf Champ is most likely out of classics. Pinball Pool has a good chance of being in. So here is an updated list.

I was thinking about instead of installing LEDs in Spidey, I could put in tiny little Candles. Then it could be in the classics, too.

Capitalizing "Candles" was a nice touch, though.

That made me laugh out loud and spit my coffee out my nose!

What are my prospects for cheap-and-or-free lodging for this thing? I am going to try and make it out, but it will have to be a Super On The Cheap trip. I can barter with free Pinburgh 2011 postcards

Your best bet is either my place, Noah's (if you can beat Cayle or Eden to it), Kevin's....but if I were you I would take up the spot I am assuming Noah will offer. He's got the best line-up.

Not sure what's happening at our house this time around. If Dropshot is offering a place at his house that's the way to go. Regardless, you should come by and play some ball at some point during the weekend .

You are welcome to stay at my place, however both spare rooms actually have people living there now, but we do have a futon and another couch that lifts up to be a queen size bed which sounds weird but is very comfortable. Either way I am sure we could find a place for you no problem.

I would talk to Kevin. He's got 2 extra rooms plus xenon, BSD, super soccer, lightning, and roller games. Although roller games might be gone by then. Hopefully that's not a deal breaker

Super Soccer will be gone (in classics) and Rollergames will be at my place, for a small storage fee. But yeah, Kevin's would be a good spot stay. It's actually pretty much right at the heart of the pinball universe.

I am coming to this! Any lineup/line-up/line up updates?

Is the spiderman the modern stern, or the older spiderman?

If we had the gottlieb amazing spiderman it would be used, however this spiderman happens to be a Stern.
