My two cents on a special prize for female players is this - skip it. I think it feels clunky and awkward. I like sliding payouts, so a female player could rock third or fourth and get her money back, rock second or maybe, someday, someday, rock first and make bucks. And it would be GLORIOUS! And something the ladies will work hard to attain.

That's good input Emma. I lied earlier. I do give Aaron shit about payouts. I feel like if a weeklie payed out a base of $10 to 4th place and upward accordingly, it encourages more people to play and feel good about placing. Even 4th outta 12 takes work and solid play and deserves your money back for the time put in. 50-25-15-10 percent payouts is rad for a night of pinball with friends. That's another funny thing about our rivalries, I can't name 2 people that don't like each other at any weeklie or tourney. Unless there is something ya'll aren't tellin me... Girls can ball! Trish, Zoe, Carly.... there is solid representation. i remember when CFF had girls (joke)

Definitely! Regarding the top female player, I say whatever the ladies want should go..... But maybe we should start a payout thread where we can rehash the tenets of socialism and gender equality. could be fun.....

This thread needs to be renamed! rumble has been postponed but a large open tournament with cash prizes will be taking place on this date in some of the previous posts Fred explains the new format. Not sure about a title for this yet will find out and get it to whoever can change the title. Thanks, would still love to see Seattle show up for this. Could be good money!

We're definitely on! Might want to make a note that onsite registration will start at noon and end at 12:30. Good call on re-posting the format to the top. Hopefully Seattle people will still make it down. We will probably try and set up another pay pal account so people can preregister online. Once we figure that out it will be posted here. I'm also confident that we will be able to get in 8 rounds, but regardless this will be a one day event for a good chunk of change with plenty of action! Then, on to Shorty's for some epileptic flipper slapping!

What does each of the 8 "rounds" consist of?

Is each round 1 game in a group of four? Or is it 3 games in a group of four?

Or, how many games total are being played by a single player across the 8 rounds?

1 round consists of 1 4 player game. 8 rounds, the best a player could do is 32pts.

for those interested I will be collecting pre registrations during the next weekly at Billy Ray's. this thing is still going on even if there are only 10 people. It will be a great chance to get experience in a 'finals' format. And to just have a lot of fun.

This thing got quiet since this thing lost its smackdown and became legit.

Since this stopped being what it was and became a money event, any chance there'll be some promotion? Maybe some flyers or posters in neighborhood bars here and in Seattle so there's a real chance to field 32 players and have the winners walk away with some cash?

I think for the most part this is the advertisement. It is on and from what I have heard there should be a decent showing. Just keep reminding people. I will bring some rule set fliers to the next tourney to pass out as well.
