Slabtown Smackdown 11-7-09

Postby sauce on Thu Oct 01, 2009 7:20 pm

MAJOR CHANGES

Saturday Nov. 7th 12:00pm @ Slabtown (weekend before Shorties so practice up)

$30 entry per player

The format is as follows:

There are 48 spots open to anyone. First come first serve. You can pre-register with me at weekly tournaments ($30 is needed then). Other than that the only other time to register is the day of. Seattle players are the only exception. Let Deathsave know and he can pass it on to me or PM me.

Basically it is going to be very close to the format we originally planned only now there is no team aspect. Everyone for themselves.

There will be 8 qualifying rounds played. The final qualifying round will not start past 8:00pm regardless of the number of rounds completed.

Each game will still be played with 4 players per machine. If 48 players sign-up all 12 machines will be used. If 32 people sign-up 8 machines will be used. Get it? Each game will the players scores will be ranked:

1st 4pts.
2nd 2pts
3rd 1pt
4th 0pts

After the final round is over the top 8 will move on to the finals. The semi final round will consist of:

1 4 5 and 8

2 3 6 and 7

The higher rank can choose position or machine first. The scoring of 4 2 1 0 will stay the same and after 3 matches the top 4 cumulative point scores will move on to the finals. the finals will be played the same. Only the machines used during the open rounds can be chosen for the finals.

Payouts:

Top Qualifier $50
Top Female Qualifier $50

1st 40%
2nd 25%
3rd 15%
4th 5%
5-8th 3.75%

So far the team captains are Rev and I along with Fred and Eric. We are working on the setting (slabtown) the format (us winning) and the minor details and side betting that is all in order. Prepare your self for the 1st annual CFF Smackdown.

Bring it. May I suggest you (non-cffers) begin praying and/or planning some sabotage techniques, you are going to need all the help you can get.

wow, this might actually get some of the shit-talkers to come down to portland for once. lemme know about the format as soon as it's settled. i'm curious about how we'd handle uneven teams.

I've heard vague rumors of these Seattle shittalkers... do they really exist? if so, does anyone care that they exist? I mean, do they do anything other than talk shit about other people to one another?

I'm in.

Can that be the official name? "CFF VS. NON CFF (Includes Seattle) Rumble" would make a great t-shirt.

The teams will be even, have to be, only way it can be done. I am sorry if that excludes some people but that is why we are trying to get a feel of how many people each team can field. Hell Deathsave if you can find some of those shit talkers we could make it a CFF VS. NON CFF VS. Seattle Rumble

That would be an even better t-shirt. The logo could be a Venn diagram.

Fred you might need to steer your fellow team captain in here. He seems to be more worried about t-shirts than fielding a winning team, maybe he is just being realistic though.

The format is very close to being agreed upon. It will be finalized and posted by Monday at the latest. The date of the event will also be announced by mid next week as well.

This is definitely going to be great!! I think you guys better get worried. We're just some amorphous blob, but if you guys lose you'll look like total pussies! We will definitely need to come up with some sort of team name. I was pushing for The Best of the Rest in the Northwest (BRN). It's confusing and hard to say, which I assume will only work to our advantage as you all sit around moping an muttering about "how I can't believe we're getting our asses handed to us by the best of the rest in the... whoever all these assholes are!"

C'mon Frederick Henry, you're better than that. You can think of a name better than that. I'm just surprised. I bought your whole lone wolf idealism bullshit. My feeling is hurt. Vengeance is mine, again, as it was before and like the time before that. What I'm saying is I own your ass! You sir are going to lose. Again, like I said before. I'm in BroHammers!
