Cool, no DDT though? Who's going to take care of the Joeys?

Good, Portland needs as much ammo as we can bring up there.

everything has been shopped. games to watch out for are NBA, which was a lot harder than any of them in portland BEFORE the playfield was cleaned and waxed, and the fast/blinding monster bash. STTNG is once again suffering from a weak launcher and upper flipper, but is otherwise playable, just watch out for the left flipper dropping slowly when you let go of the button. MM plays nice but started dishing out mats runsten slam tilts tonight...beware! tilt on RFM is loose but it's down to one tilt warning. speakeasy plays great for once. 24 still has retardo crazy nuke jackpot code on it even though i bugged them to update. fathom, EK, and surf champ might as well not have been touched but they sure do look nice. crazy blue overhead light on TOTAN has been toned down. TDK flashers no less irritating. TAF is fine. CP is still an extra ball factory and is otherwise easy to boot. pumping the pinball techs for information yielded nothing about the prize game or games to be swapped out the night before the tourney.

see you tomorrow.

Speakeasy floats in front of the flippers like there's a magnet underneath it, right to left. That side button didn't do anything to shuffle the cards into order. On NBA, the right backflip to multiball works solid.

RFM, CP and MB play great. Weak flippers on surf champ, fathom and EK. Fathom and EK are still playable. Surf champ is hell to play with those mushy flippers.

CAP, i guess i've gotten so used to it that i forgot it was worth mentioning. speakeasy has a wacky plastic playfield that is warped, probably from being screwed in too tight or from heat. shoot a few more games on that surf champ. if you get used to the delay on those flippers it's easy to roll.

1. Cayle George
2. Slam Tilt
3. Andy Peterrsson
4. Deathsave

Info pulled from WPPR posting:
http://www.pinballrankings.com/?p=147

The final matches were riveting. I received most of my info secondhand, so I'll leave the recap to someone who was actually there.

Also, Zoe was the top female qualifier finishing around 10th. Soundcard, Maka, and Elijah were all in the top 8. Sauce, Noah, and Rob Timberlake were top 16-ish.

Congrats to all!

The final match was crazy! Slamtilt won the first game with a pretty substantial score. Then Cayle pretty much destroyed the machine in round two, putting up something like a 960,000 (000?) and coming up barely short of rolling it over!! We got back to portland around 4am and I want to puke on my desk right now, but it was worth sticking around to watch!! Congrats to Cayle on the win, and nice work by Slamtilt and all the CFF guys too, way to represent!

Many congrats Cayle on the monster round 2 and to Slam Tilt for going the distance. Despite all the "uniqueness" of the Shortys tournament, I had a blast hanging out with you all. Met a lot of great people and made some new friends. Thanks to Aaron for the live updates - made for a tense car ride home! Great job Portland - I think we can all agree that we made a solid showing!
