Portland's City Club - 1956 Pinball Ban and Repeal of Ban

Check it. A colleague was going through the City Club archives and came across these two items from 1956. One is the City Club discussing banning pinball. And the other is the City Club discussing repealing the ban.

I like the way that the one dissenter apparently got kicked out of the city club by the subsequent meeting. Unfortunate moniker, but here's to you Jack Hoffman.

I think putting goldies on it doesn't help our cause at all either. Nor do the weeklies, at least there isn't a house taking half or all if you lose.

"Your Committee has been informed that a union repair man will now service a nonunion machine, but his bill is alleged to be several times higher than for similar work on a union machine."

That's the real racket right there.
