BOP missing sound bits and wont sing

So i replaced the rom chips with L7's ( they were L6's) (not sure what that means) i guess thats the version

still no luck , Im thinking about a new MPU ? but I don't want to drop the 250 bucks

all the systems test claim the machine is in working order .. sound and music and the lit diodes ..

any suggestions form the masters ....

another board suggested rewrighting the old ROM ... that I do not have the tools to do
I could bring it to portland if that would be less expensive ..and someone wants to fuck with it

thanks for any advise

she is missing some of the loop sounds like the moans , ive heard them a couple times , but not many

thanks opto

Hmmmm - I know there's an "adult" and "family" mode in the settings somewhere - maybe adult mode will put the moans back.

OPTO you are right there are family modes those are off , and sing mode is on .. I have tried the metemorphis (sp older mac no spell check) both ways to see if there was a glitch

its either the sound board or the MPU
thats my guess

does anyone test these thing in portland before I go and sent out the sound board to NH? the thing is 250 bucks

Thanks

I'd recommend contacting Rob Anthony or Clive Jones for board repair. While I've never had any work done by them, both are very highly regarded in the pinball community for their board repairs. I'm not sure who quoted you $250 (which seems outrageous to me since you could find a fully working MPU and sound board for less) but according to Clive's site, his average fee for WPC MPU repair is $78 and the average for a pre-DSC sound board repair is $68.

well Its been over a month and not a word , I emailed Rob

he said the boards were in house along with "6 Dozen" others , really ? and that he had found no issues with the boards ..but they may need further
looking over ?

WTFDTM?

i feel a little scammed , but then again I usually dont deal with Circut board guys
