Portland Pinball Map launched, currently in orbit

Posted: December 8th, 2008 by ROM

SSW and I launched the new Portland Pinball Map website last night. The site rules, and everyone should please start using it. The old map is toast, and you won’t be cool anymore if you continue to use it.

This new site has many fantastic search functions! And you can add comments on machines. And you can add and remove machines from locations. And you can put your scores next to machines, so we can track bounties and stuff. And you can do so much more!

I started a thread on it on the message board, so please write stuff on the subject in there or here. I hope you all find the website to be useful, and I hope you all use it a lot.

In also news, last night we inducted three new members: Scoop (long time coming!), Bumpers, and Mystery! That brings our member total to 34. And since Scoop and Bumpers are females, that brings our total in that category to five? I don’t know, but I think so. Progress is progress. It was a fun induction ceremony – beer was swilled and spilled, tiaras were worn, penis-shaped balloons were hoisted to the heavens, and some really weird belts were worn.

Hopefully I’ll get photos of all our most recent adds (dropshot, revtest, videomode, and the three most new, and everyone else still missing) so that I can put their faces onto the profile page.

If anyone has photos from last night, please gimme one or more, and I’ll add them to this post.

Congrats to the new inductees, sorry i wasn’t there but I didn’t even know about it until damn near midnight, when I finally noticed 3 texts, 2 of them after 10:30. There has got to be a better way of setting up the meetings. If tilt is deciding late in the afternoon then he should decide late in the afternoon the day before.

Did you not get Tilt’s first text?

It’s official, I’m going to put a hard bid into full day-before announcements. Will update on my progress.

nope, I gave him my number when I got in but I have missed the last two meetings because I haven’t received a text from him either time.

I just sent him your number, and made the request.

It’s pretty intense. but there are times when I’m like I just want to shut it off! you know? and just smile and ball and not be bombarded with these great ideas about how to make the world so much better?

i’ve found that decades and decades of watching The
3 Stooges put me on a plateau where I haven’t progressed passed like, 4th grade. Whenever a thought transpires, it is immediately clouded by hilarious phrases such as “Im a victim of coicumstance.” Or, “nyuck nyuck nyuck.” I have some on dvd if you wanna give it a whirl. Or, you can continue being the dang genius all the frickin time. Your life buddy. Your life.

crapcrapcrap – the truth is coming out: I’m not a genius, and I didn’t make this website by myself! I’m a fraud.

I accidently put a score on csi at shanghai tunnel, should have been on IJ. Can you delete it? Nice job on the site, but the interface could use a little tweaking to make it more intuitive.

sauce, any detailed feedback on that matter would be helpful. We originally had a friend helping us out with usability, but yadda yadda yadda, we ended up having to do most of it all ourselves. You can post ideas on the thread on the general board. I’ll look into the adding scores feature to see how that could be tweaked to make sure people don’t pick the wrong game.
